- 2. It is only recently that the government began privatising the health care system.
False – It started with Margaret Thatcher, 30 years ago.
- 4. There are lots of advertisements to promote public health care because people want to en-courage others to choose public hospitals.
False – There are lots of advertisements to promote private health services, and their message is that people can access healthcare more quickly by choosing a private hospital.
- 5. Private hospitals receive money from companies and patients, but only public hospitals receive money from the government.
False – Private hospitals also receive money from the government. This is one of Dede’s complaints about the changes in the system.
- 7. According to Dede, one political party is solely responsible for destroying the NHS.
False – She says that every political party has played a role is destroying the NHS.
